Improper Use of Time
Deus Ex: You can’t spell Revolution without Evolution

(SPOILERS AHEAD) Just completed Deus Ex Human Revolution. The ending had me walking around the house for like 45 deciding what to do. I went in a transhumanist and came out with a lot of scepticism for the cause, But i still chose Sarif’s ending. From all the game has shown me, i learned that people know when enough is enough, we can’t regulate the leaps in technology simple because people used them for their own ends (And those people would find another way of manipulating people even without augmentation technology existing).

Taggart’s regulation sounded more like control than a concerted effort to stop augmentations harming people. Harmful augmentation would still happen, crime still happens whether it is made illegal or not (It makes a very good parallel with DRM, affecting the majority of the innocent and the minority of the guilty)

Darrow’s ending was out of the question, a world without technology or science is one doomed to fall faster than any with technological evolution. Sounds heavy, but i really can’t imagine a world where science is halted.

Destroying the facility felt a little like darrow’s ending, while those people in the facility wanted to spin the event to their own will, destroying panchea would also destroy people who would be able to help the world understand the turmoil it was facing and maybe help solve it.

With the freedom of information that this kind of technology brings, any individual or company stepping out of line (like TYM did) everyone would know what was happening in a matter a hours if not minutes.

I’ve learned so much from this game and if humans ever get to the augmented future of DE:HR, we’ll have this game as a great reminder of the power technology driven evolution can bring, good or bad.
